Senior Pastor Alan and Kathy Bassette

Pastor Bassette and his wife Kathy, moved to the city of Oswego in 1992. With a burden to win the lost they rented an old church building that was in need many repairs. After some of the repairs were finished they moved into the basement and held services upstairs. This began the adventure of a life time that is far from over.

Pastors and Sister Bassette began to pray, fast and teach bible studies. During this time Pastor Bassette supported his family as a bricklayer, laying bricks by day and teaching Bible studies at night. Soon they began to grow and found themselves in need of a new place to hold services.

God blessed the church with a storefront in downtown Oswego with enough room for services in the front of the building and Sunday school rooms  in the back. Again God blessed their efforts. After much prayer, the Lord led the church to a beautiful piece of land on City Line Road. By faith and sacrificial giving, they were able purchase the land and build a beautiful building that today is debt- free.

Pastor Bassette and Sister Bassette have been married for 32 years and have 9 children that are all involved in the work of the church, in music, Sunday school and ministry. They also are blessed with three son in-laws, one daughter in-law and 9 grandchildren.

In 2010 a need for a pastor in the city of Utica, NY touched Pastor Bassette”s heart, and God led him to start a home mission church in that city. Pastor and Sister Bassette now are pastoring both churches and now in the city of Utica there is a growing, thriving church that is having revival. God is blessing the church with miracles, and lives are being changed for the glory of God.

Since receiving his license in 1992, Pastor Bassette has served as an assistant pastor, youth representative, home mission representative, district Sunday school director, district foreign missions director, and currently serves as presbyter for section 2.
